Welcome to My Journey

This blog documents the awakening of my sixth sense and the incredible adventures to follow. The blog also reaches out to others who are interested in or who may be experiencing a similar other-worldliness and who, like me, are trying to figure it all out. There are no set answers in here, but plenty of questions and stories that will make you wonder. Come muse with me!

Learning to Drive Like a Jedi Knight

One of the first things my Guides taught me was how to drive on the highway.  As I approached the entry ramp, Sam who was around at the time said, “Now, feel the energy.”  So, I tried to “feel” rather than see my way onto the highway.  Before looking into the mirror, I would practice by guessing where other cars were located.

Anyone who knows me, knows I drive like grandma – very slow and timid – which can actually be dangerous.  I waited interminably at intersections unable to judge the distance of oncoming cars and being afraid my own car would stall while turning.

A week later, our family rented the first Stars Wars movie – Guides truly have a sense of humor.  Obi Wan Kanobi tells Luke to “feel the Force” while he’s flying a jetfighter against Darth Vader. Luke closes his eyes and senses where he must go.  Now, I don’t close my eyes (!), but sometimes I'll squint in order to tune in and get into the zone.

I must admit that feeling your way around the road has its own unique hazards.  One time, I “heard” this car approach from behind.  I looked in the mirror and saw this highly animated woman talking to her passenger.  She became louder as she got closer, I worried she would rear-end me. Annoyed about her riding on my bumper, I flipped her the bird!  Immediately afterward, I realized my mistake and judging by the looks I got from that car, was totally in the wrong.  Yikes.  I sensed her quick and robust energy, could feel her car approaching mine, even hear her talking, but in reality she was driving just fine.  I felt a little bad about that one.

Another time, I was driving on the highway in the far right lane and felt an incoming car.  The driver was aggressive and as he entered the highway he drove with an intensity that said he was not going to yield to me.  He was so strong, that I swerved when our cars were directly beside one another.  Again, in reality all was okay – he was in his lane, I was in mine, but I over-reacted to his energy.  Swerving at 70 miles per hour is not a good thing.

Why am I telling you about this?  Well, despite those two transgressions, overall I’ve become a better driver.  These days, I easily merge onto the highway and drive with a lot more confidence.  How cool is that?!

John Holland suggests this very exercise in his book, “Psychic Navigator.”  He refers to it as “energy scanning” which can be used in a variety of ways to read auras, scan the body for health issues and to drive!  It’s about learning how to sense energy fields.

Now, don’t go all Luke Skywalker.  But if you do try it, “may the Force be with you.”
